	Buster & Leo Adopted into separate homes, these two brothers are well on their way to a new beginning.   Leo was welcomed into his new home just before his new human-kin was brought into our world.  Both will grow up together learning about this big place called earth together!

	Charlie Adopted by a wonderful family in Portage, Charlie enjoys long walks and playing lots of ball.  After leaving our animal adoption agency, he made a trip to the groomer and is now sporting a new, shorter look, which emphasizes his spaniel side that much more!

	Ammi
	Bear   This pup is the sixth out of seven to get a second chance at life.  His adorable manner melted the hearts of many at our adopt-a-thon!
	Sarge   This "military-style guy" won over the hearts of a loving family from Portage during one of our adopt-a-thons.      This well-mannered boy now has a place to call  home.
	Ike & Tina   Adopted out separately, Ike was taken in by a current foster mom and is doing well.  Tina found her home with kennel mate, Mr. Smith, and is also doing well.
	Mr. Smith   Adopted out to a new loving home with kennel mate, Tina, we are pleased that Mr. Smith (aka Mr. Shy) will be able to find comfort in his new surroundings with an old pal.
	Poncho This little kitten was rescued on Dec 23/06.   Originally named Cletus and subsequently discovered to be a female, her new name is Poncho.  The people that adopted her had to nurse her through the bad times for a few days due to extreme starvation. They report that she is strolling through the house like she owns it and is doing well and growing like a weed.
	Waylon & Willy These brothers are from the litter of seven pups  that were abandoned in the RM.  Two lucky little  guys to be starting over at a better chance at life.

	Jimmy   Adopted by his foster home, J.J. (aka Jimmy) has settled in well with the resident dog.  J.J.'s cool, laid-back demeanor has been an asset for this foster home when the "newbies" come in and are curious as to what a "cat" is.  He takes everything in stride and not much makes him raise a paw! (RIP-Bandit-Feb 15/94 to Apr 29/08)

	Blaize   "Tina" (aka Blaize) has tugged hard enough at her foster parents heart strings, that they said "Yes".  Who wouldn't fall in love?!?!?!
	Sadie This is a photo of Sadie "directing traffic". She loves to watch the trains go. Always a very busy young lady, Sadie is curious about everything and makes us laugh!

Lexie (aka Darby) Lexie enjoys days at the cottage, jumping off the dock and taking a plunge.  She spends lots of time out on the soccer & football fields too, cheering on her favorite team!

	Bailey aka Zoe   Bailey, who has outgrown her "pomeranian" looks, is doing wonderful in her new home.  Her new owners tell us she's sharing her new life with a border collie buddy.
	Willow  Willow's first Halloween with her new Mom & Dad.  She's one cute little ladybug!
	Jip    Jip has found a new home, and his welcoming committee includes a new big fur-brother who's quite similar, only bigger!  Jip hopes when he gets older, he'll be just like him!
	Queen  Take one lost soul, add a loving home and you get a placement that makes an adoption inevitable!   Queen's foster parents couldn't bare to see her go anywhere else after sharing her kisses with them.   Happy tails!
	Gypsy   Another foster parent finds a cuddly pup to call their own.  Gypsy has settled in nicely in her new farm home.  She's helping "dad" around the yard with chores, taking truck rides and finding time to greet "mom" when she comes home.

	Ranger   Ranger has settled in to his new digs and has two new cats to convince that's he's just a big teddy bear who wants to play.  This big boy has finally found his forever home.

	Polar (now known as Romeo) This boy is a real charmer with his big brown eyes.  He attends soccer games and enjoys visiting with the neighbor's puppy for some playtime.  Romeo underwent hip surgery a while ago but is recovering well.   Romeo's family is looking forward to many years with him as their family is complete with the joy he has already brought them.

	Abby "Abby has become a shadow of me; everywhere I go she's behind me.  She has fit right in with the family.  Her favorite time is our 2-3 miles walks every day.  She has earned the right to run free; she is always looking over her shoulder to make sure I'm still behind her.  She can sit, stay and heel on command"

	Zak Just chillin' in Chillawack, BC! Zak is such a sweet boy and loves all of the kids in our cul-de-sec. You can hear the roars of laughter and squeals of glee when Zaky comes out to play with all the kids. Zak was a bit of an imp this christmas as he couldn't resist the temptation of the Christmas turkey on the kitchen counter -- he almost missed his chance for left-overs.... :) Anyway he is becoming a very big boy, but he is so soft and gentle -- I could never have asked for a more loving dog.  Thanks for bringing him into our lives, The Barnett Family

	Terri Terri has grown into such a pretty girl. Weighing in at 53lbs , she jumps like a deer and has become an amazing mouser; her presents left close to the house for her adopted family.  Yech! 	Monty   This charming boy won over the heart of his foster mom, Executive Director (Tara) when he first arrived at PAWS with a terrible incoming story.  He was rescued from being beaten by three young boys in a backlane in Portage by a prior adoptive parent who was out walking his dog.  Despite this horrible incident, Monty's personality has been nothing short of wonderful.  He is kind, gentle and always trying to please.  He will slink up beside you, first putting his head on your lap, then slowly lifting one paw...then the other....then before you know it - INSTANT LAP DOG!  His border collie instincts tell him he must always keep the german shepherd (Major) in line....which sometimes leads to some confusion as to who's in charge here anyways!

	Sonya "Sonya has found a nice sunny spot-right on our patio table!  She's growing bigger every day.  She can play with the gray cat without getting scratched-it gets rather noisy in the house.  Sonya is really nice to have around.  She enjoys catching the frisbee, but especially likes returning it to get a treat!"

	Katie "Katie is very energetic and loves as many walks a day as she can get.  She loves to swim and play fetch with her squeaky ball.  Her other favorite things are cuddling and licking.  She's learnt a lot of tricks and is very happy in her new home!"

	Tommy This is just a quick update on Rusty (a.k.a Tommy). We got Rusty at the end of May and had been looking for a member of our family for quite some time when we came across your website. We fell in love with that little guy right away and never mind when we saw him in person the next day. When we got Rusty home he was a very shy guy with very little hair. I think we had him not even 24 hrs and he got away on us out the back gate. Scared the living heck out of us. He came back in his own time after he realized that the truck could go faster than he did. Rusty has learned to be trusting of us and let his true colors shine. He loves walks two or three times a day, which I might add, helps him with his "chattiness". That is certainly the tiny dog coming out in him. We have found out that he is a good dog when he is a tired one. He lives to play with "his kid" (our 4 1/2 yr old son). They spend hours in a day running up and down the hall and playing tug a war in his room. We so love this little guy and are very glad that we came across your website.   Take care, and thanks again,  The Farnells and definately Rusty!
	DeeDee It has taken us a little while to update you, but as you can see, DeeDee appears to be quite happy and has put on a bit of weight!  DeeDee is a VERY affectionate girl.  She likes to show how happy she is to be here with her claws while sitting on your lap.  She jumps and frolics and follows me around like a little dog.  Although she is still knocking things off the counters and chasing them across the floor (pens, keys, cell phones, apples, magazines, etc.), we are happy she is here. -Ken

	Major Major has found his place in his new home, amongst former foster pets, Monty and J.J.  These boys will spend the rest of their days growing old together with Executive Director, Tara.  After losing long-time resident dog Bandit to cancer, Monty needed that buddy commitment that was lost and Major came into our lives at just the right time.  He is a loving boy who aims to please.  He loves to run and play with Monty, who keeps him going!  And after initial introductions to J.J., the resident cat (aka Jimmy), things have settled and everyone has figured out their place in the family.  Major has been very receptive to the newbies who come thru the door.  He seems to be on 24-7 patrol when outdoors, from bugs to birds, but doesn't mind taking a break to chase the border collie if he gets outta line!
Bree's Babies	Polar (now known as Romeo) - see above    Fuzzy Face (now known as Jazz) Jazz is growing quickly.  She loves to play catch with anything and wrestling the garden plants.  She loves licking her family's newborn baby's ears and likes to visit her former "shelter buddy" Jip at Grandma and Grandpa's house, where the two of them romp for hours.  "Thank you bringing her into our lives."

	Sheena  "We adopted "Sheena" (aka Taxi) in the spring of this 2008 and we are so glad we did. She has fit into our family perfectly and we can't imagine not having her here with us. 	Rocky  My name is Dan; my girlfriend Jenna and I adopted Oakley (Rocky, as he was known) in late October.  We instantly fell in love with him and adopted him.  He was a very nervous dog when we got him and didn't like males. He was very insecure and never let us out of his sight.  He seemed like he was afraid to be left alone for fear of abandonment or being 'shipped' to another home.  It took him about a month to start getting comfortable, and he has turned in to such a great dog.  When we got him, we planned on keeping him outside most of the time in our big fenced yard, but he is quite a suck and would much rather be in the house up on the couch with us.  He is very well mannered and behaved and seems to have gotten over his fear of males and abandonment.  We just have to work on the car-sickness now.  I have 3 small nieces and a 6 year old nephew who absolutely adore Oakley and he is so good with them.   He has been such a great addition to the household!  Thanks PAWS!
	Gretchen   Gretchen (who is now known as Julie) has settled in well in her new digs.  She is a smart girl who spent the first week following "Mom" from room to room and throwing herself down at her feet when she stopped moving.  Julie is an excellent passenger in the car and walks cooperatively on leash.  She's had her first encounters with the ceiling fan and the cat, both of which made her back away!  She's also had her first visit to the dog park!

	Jetta (formerly Jet) "Little did I know when I went to volunteer at an Adopt-a-thon in January that I would be coming home with my best friend. I was not looking for a dog at the time but now cannot imagine my life without her. She is a very energetic, happy, loving little girl. She has come a long way in the 9 months I have had her. She is no longer scared of men and she is much better at greeting other dogs on the walk path (not perfect yet). She still has issues with brooms, rakes or shovels but that is improving and she still has moments where she has trouble controlling her excitement.  She just graduated from Obedience Classes and did quite well. She LOVES playing with her squeak toys, balls and chew bones but her favorite past time is playing with her best buddy, Piper.  Thank you to PAWS for helping me find my best friend!!!

	Dublin Hi everybody-just wanted to keep you updated on a puppy we adopted from you, Dublin.  He is a wonderful addition to our home and is spoiled rotten and can be a brat at times, but we still love him and could not be happier to have him.  We take him camping (Grand Beach) and all our other road trips, especially Kenora were a lot of the hotels allow pets.  We're sending a recent pic of him.  We hope you like it.   Your happy adopters-Heather and Bruce
